Nikos Karellis and
Odysseus Nathenas were born
in Iraklion in 1963 with only a few days of difference. (Nikos is 14 days younger than Odysseus).
They first met when Nikos came back from Canada at the age of 12; and since then they have been inseparable, committing themselves to provocative interventions in the cultural being of the
island of Crete.
In the late 70's
they both left Crete to pursue further education abroad. Nikos left for Paris
where he studied History of Art, Archaeology, Cinematography, Communication and
Journalism at Universite de La Sorbonne Paris I (half-jokingly he states: «In
fact, my studies in Paris were all about women».
Odysseus left for Florence where he studied Art at the Academy of Fine Arts.
When they returned to Crete, mature enough and with loads of knowledge and
experience, they decided to earn their living in business sectors conformed to their newly acquired
specialties.
Nikos, for instance, took over the management of the daily local newspaper ALLAGHI, established the private radio station RADIO CITY, and acted as editor and producer of radio and TV broadcasts.
He is also the founder of Creta
Shop, the first e-shop proposing Cretan products online. Odysseus, on the other hand established the advertising company known as «L&O Advertising»
At the beginning of 1991 they decided to try their luck with a publication, «STIGMES», a magazine dedicated to society news or, as they say, «. . . a magazine that would provide us access to the coolest parties in town». However, it seems that this publication has grown beyond its founder's expectations. STIGMES has turned into one of the most important local expressions of mass media, circulating worldwide "wherever Cretans live".

books and websites and produces CDs multimedia productions.
