My
name is not Avissinos. My real name is Sfakianakis. But when I was
going to the third grade of Public school my schoolteacher called me "Avissine”
(because of my dark color) and all the other children began "Avissyne,
Avissyne'” and I have never been called with another name since..
I
did never play music with notes. The music that I play comes out first
through my soul, then it goes to my brain and from thereon straight to
my hands. How, I do not know, where to know… Many times I wake up
the night because I have dreamed a tune. I get up immediately,
plays my violin and there it is, a new song!
